About The Position

Chromalloy is a global engineering & solutions company. We are a leading provider of aftermarket parts, repairs, and solutions that safely & reliably extend the life of aircraft engines and gas turbines. We develop, manufacture and repair critical turbine components for a range of engine platforms. Our solutions support the engines running the aerospace, energy and defense industries around the world. The QC Inspector will be responsible for in-process and final product quality analyses/inspection in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements. Interprets and evaluates the analyses in terms of accuracy and precision compared against established specifications. Uses various measuring devices, testing equipment, predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to accept or reject products. May work from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience working from drawings & using precision measuring equipment
  • Ability to read & interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.
  • Ability to follow routine work and standard procedures.
  • Math skills to perform necessary computations involving decimals, fractions, and angles, and apply substitution of numbers in simple formulas.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey information that requires minimal explanation or interpretation.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with inspection tooling and techniques
  • Knowledge/experience with quality systems and standards such as AS9100

Responsibilities

  • Induction of customer owned material into Repair Station
  • Review of all certifications
  • Check process documentation for completeness
  • Visually inspect articles and do random dimensional checks
  • Review Purchase Orders and shippers for accuracy
  • Performs visual and/or dimensional in-process inspections to determine conformance to acceptable or approved technical data
  • Read and understand blueprints and/or sketches
  • Maintain production standards/quality
  • Documenting travelers after operations performed
  • Ensures compliance with Company RSM/QCM, QPM and ISO quality requirements
  • Provide inspection/Quality Department support to production cells
  • Help with internal audits
  • Filing completed repair documentation
  • Ship customer hardware per purchase order instructions
