About The Position

The Final Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all upholstered furniture, including sofas, chairs, sectionals, and ottomans, and other upholstered pieces meet company quality standards and customer specifications before shipment. This role involves conducting detailed inspections, identifying defects, and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues. The Final Inspector plays a key role in maintaining customer satisfaction by ensuring that only high-quality products leave the facility. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in quality control or upholstery inspection, preferably in furniture manufacturing.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects in upholstery, stitching, and frame construction.
  • Knowledge of upholstery materials, furniture assembly, and quality standards.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to work with production and quality teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and quality standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional training or certification in quality inspection is a plus.
  • Training in quality inspection or lean manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of upholstered furniture to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Identify defects such as fabric flaws, stitching inconsistencies, frame issues, and structural defects.
  • Verify dimensions, fabric alignment, padding distribution, and overall appearance of finished products.
  • Check for proper functionality, including stability, reclining mechanisms, and cushion fit.
  • Document all identified defects and communicate findings to upholstery, sewing, cutting, cushion-fill, and frame teams.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure that all necessary repairs and touch-ups are completed before final approval for shipment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on recurring defects and potential process enhancements.
  • Maintain compliance with company quality assurance policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Assist in developing and refining inspection checklists and procedures to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, defect trends, and corrective actions taken.
  • Generate reports on quality metrics and provide feedback to supervisors and production teams.
