Final Inspection Supervisor
About The Position
Sorting Supervisor will lead, mentor and develop a team of sorters in a warehouse/manufacturing environment. They will train and coach sorters to capture defects that have made it past production operators. They will understand and drive down through the ranks the ideology that they are the last line of defense to capture defects before they escape our facility. They will ensure that they have balanced manpower and adequate resources to attain all group, department, and plant goals. will utilize tools and specialized equipment to ensure the products are manufactured with the correctly and are within certain mechanical tolerances. It is the responsibility of the Sort Supervisor to ensure their tools are calibrated and are in good working order. Involves visual inspection and sorting products to ensure they meet quality standards from those that do not, and performing rework as necessary to defective units.
Responsibilities
- Performs visual and/or dimensional inspection of the parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies during the manufacturing process and at completion as directed or indicated in control plans
- Report any non-conformance’s to the Quality system, Engineering Standards, Drawing Specification, and Inspection Standards
- Confirm conformance to Engineering Standards and Drawing specification by performing and documenting outgoing shipment verifications and audits as directed
- Employee must be able to safely and effectively operate a forklift attain and keep a company forklift certification.
- Employee must be able to utilize approved rework tools and develop, publish, and train rework standards.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; re-work products as required
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
- Responsible for knowing and following Company policies as directed by Associate Handbook and the Safety Rules, Regulations, Quality Manual
