About The Position

The QC Coil Inspector is responsible for inspecting fabricated coils for defects and deviations from design specifications, utilizing precision measuring instruments, labeling coils, and performing final inspection before releasing them for crating. This role requires maintaining a safe and clean working environment, discarding non-conforming products, and interpreting technical documents such as blueprints, data, and manuals to determine specifications and inspection procedures. The inspector will also notify supervisors of production problems, assist in identifying and correcting issues, discuss inspection results, and recommend corrective actions. Other duties include observing and monitoring production operations and equipment for conformance, making necessary process or assembly adjustments, reading dials and meters to verify equipment function, and repairing equipment as needed. The position involves contributing to team efforts, completing assigned tasks, complying with government regulations and company policies, working overtime as necessary, attending work as required, and accurately charging time in the attendance system. The inspector must be self-motivated, able to work independently, complete job assignments on time, care for tools and equipment, and clean their work area.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment, and certification methods; includes reading engineering drawings and instructions, reading bill of material, and reading manufacturing instructions to ensure accuracy and quality of product.
  • Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions.
  • Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and make or order necessary process or assembly adjustments.
  • Read dials and meters to verify that equipment is functioning at specified levels.
  • Repair equipment to correct defects found during inspections as needed.
  • Contribute to team effort by working with others and accomplishing related functions as needed.
  • Complete any task as assigned by supervisor as needed.
  • Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies and company procedures.
  • Work overtime as necessary.
  • Attend work as required.
  • Charge time accurately in time and attendance system on computer to ensure accurate labor distribution and payroll.
  • Follow manufacturing instructions, work by oneself without constant supervision, be self-motivated and complete job assignments on time.
  • Care for tools and equipment. Advise maintenance of equipment that is not working properly.
  • Clean work area as required.
