Job Summary and Purpose: The QC Bacteriology Technician I will ensure in-process materials and final product are tested in a manner consistent with Standard Operating Procedures and in compliance with regulations according to 9CFR.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Microbiology
- Must have great aseptic technique
- Must work well with a team
- Basic skills with databases and word processing programs
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Veterinary Science or equivalent
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Must be able to read, write legible and understand English
- Visual inspection
- Handling hazardous materials or other chemicals if necessary
Nice To Haves
- Prefer 1 year in Quality Control or relevant lab experience
Responsibilities
- Conduct sterility, purity, potency, and extraneous testing for in-process materials and final product
- Perform gram staining and further bacterial identification when required
- Performed tasks using aseptic technique
- Report any Out of Specification results
- Routine lab maintenance and cleaning
- Assure QC records are accurate, compliant, and capture critical data
