Job Summary and Purpose: The QC Bacteriology Technician I will ensure in-process materials and final product are tested in a manner consistent with Standard Operating Procedures and in compliance with regulations according to 9CFR.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of Microbiology
  • Must have great aseptic technique
  • Must work well with a team
  • Basic skills with databases and word processing programs
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Veterinary Science or equivalent
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to read, write legible and understand English
  • Visual inspection
  • Handling hazardous materials or other chemicals if necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer 1 year in Quality Control or relevant lab experience

Responsibilities

  • Conduct sterility, purity, potency, and extraneous testing for in-process materials and final product
  • Perform gram staining and further bacterial identification when required
  • Performed tasks using aseptic technique
  • Report any Out of Specification results
  • Routine lab maintenance and cleaning
  • Assure QC records are accurate, compliant, and capture critical data
