Job Summary: Perform all in process and finished product testing using standardized test procedures and methods. Must possess working knowledge of wet chemistry techniques and some instrumentation skills. Must adhere to Good Laboratory Practices. Shift: 5am - 5pm: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Perform testing on in-process and finished goods following standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods. Ensure that work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner. Follow GLP, GDP, GMP guidelines and 21 CFR Part 11 data integrity. Provide technical support to the quality and quality engineering functions. Perform a variety of laboratory wet chemical tests using written methods and procedures. Use of general laboratory equipment including pipets, burets, KF titrator, colorimeter, UV-Vis, and analytical balances. Approve, adjust, and reject samples, following product guidelines and specifications. Record results on every sample analyzed using lab software and databases. Effectively communicate, both verbally and written, lab data and results to other departments. Participate in Gage R&R and other statistical studies of QC methods. Ensure the highest level of commitment to Safe Quality Food (SQF) to provide assurance that all products have been products, prepared, and handled according to the highest possible standards. Annual proficiency testing required. Report to Quality Control Supervisor on all problems that may arise daily. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in Technical Degree required. 0-5 years external experience Understands basic statistical tools. Skills & Abilities: Basic laboratory instrumentation. Use of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access). Strong communication skills. Technical ability. Working Environment/Physical Demands: Work is in a professional laboratory environment. Regular exposure to laboratory and manufacturing plant conditions.
