About The Position

CGI has an immediate need for a QA Tester to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!. This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable. We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Tester to support testing efforts across enterprise-level initiatives. This role is responsible for validating requirements, executing test cases, and ensuring appropriate coverage across functional, integration, and backend systems. You will collaborate closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, and Scrum teams to help maintain quality throughout the software development lifecycle. The role includes hands-on testing responsibilities, defect identification and tracking, and contributing to test automation and QA best practices. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience working in Agile or Waterfall environments, and the ability to effectively support testing activities for cloud-based and enterprise applications.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in functional, integration, SOA/Web Services, DW/ETL, or backend testing
  • Experience working within Agile (Scrum/Sprint) and/or traditional Waterfall delivery models
  • Familiarity with QA management tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, Rally, or similar platforms
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skills (Oracle preferred) and experience working in Unix and Windows environments
  • Experience executing automated tests or supporting automated test frameworks (ATDD/BDD or similar approaches)
  • Familiarity with API testing tools and testing web services
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps-integrated QA practices
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
  • Good communication skills with the ability to clearly document test results and issues

Nice To Haves

  • Experience testing cloud-based applications or distributed systems is a plus
  • Exposure to Anaplan or similar enterprise planning platforms is a plus
  • Experience managing defects and participating in defect triage processes
