Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma. An associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Have familiarity with common office computer software such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word.
  • Will have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to read and understand technical drawings and documents such as blueprints, bills of material, and production routings.
  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and visual measuring equipment such as optical comparators, microscopes or Micro-Vu optical measuring equipment. CMM experience is highly desired.
  • Must demonstrate understanding of basic math skills. An understanding of manufacturing statistics is preferred.
  • Ability in calibrations techniques for inspection gages or demonstrate the aptitude in learning to perform this function within the company including the maintenance of the gage calibration software database.
  • Understanding of Quality Standard such as ISO 9001 or similar principles.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures that pertain to a Quality Assurance Lab.
  • Able to create instructions and guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Complete receiving inspection, initial sample inspection reports (ISIR), and outgoing final audits.
  • Perform gage calibration
  • Ensure containment of rejected items, investigate rejected product returned from customer, create corrective action reports
  • Create and issue quality alerts to the production line.
  • Create and update in process control forms (ICP)
  • Perform capability studies on manufacturing floor by measuring critical dimensions on component(s) / subassembly(s), input data in CpK software and analyze.
  • Analyze manufacturing or product problems and make recommendations for corrective action based on the analysis.
