About The Position

Under the direct supervision and direction of the QA Supervisor, Technician is responsible for performing tests on in-process product to evaluate compliance with company and regulatory Food Safety standards. is expected follow all safety and GMP requirements at all times.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
  • Ability to utilize a calculator and perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Punctual
  • Team player, willing to take initiative
  • Prolonged sitting
  • Hand dexterity and strength.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to lifting equipment (up to 25 lbs unassisted), bending, kneeling, crouching, standing, climbing or walking.
  • Must be able to perform regular tasks with hands and fingers.
  • Ability and willingness to work environment in extremely cold temperatures(34 – 36 degrees F) and wet conditions.
  • Work performed indoors in a climate controlled environment and in a production type facility
  • Work in cold, damp environment
  • QA Technician may serve as back-up for QA Technicians (AM/PM).

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 2 years of related Quality Control experience in a food manufacturing environment a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and documents food grade chlorine and citric acid proportions in processing water to ensure solutions are in compliance with established levels; accurately completes and submits supporting documentation; reports discrepancies and violations to Supervisor immediately.
  • Regular communication and interaction with manufacturing line employees, primarily in the Spanish language.
  • Evaluates raw and finished product for defects and non-conformance to quality standards; accurately completes and submits supporting documentation; reports discrepancies and violations to Supervisor immediately.
  • Maintains open lines of communication and positive working relationships with manufacturing staff.
  • Sets a positive example by following all safety and GMP requirements at all times.
  • Actively participates in Tailgate meetings.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Quality team and management.
  • Contributes to a successful food safety culture by following the established guidelines as outlined in the Food Safety Policy.
  • Follows all Company food safety protocols without fail.
  • Always perform tasks in a manner that protects and promotes food safety.
  • Cooperates with managers and other leaders to ensure all Company legal and ethical requirements are met.
