About The Position

The QA Tech Relief position is responsible for ensuring the overall quality and food safety of products and materials throughout the production process. This involves analyzing and testing products against established quality standards, continuously inspecting the product, plant, employees, and equipment on the manufacturing floor, and sampling finished products for compliance. The role also includes conducting various checks like metal detector and blade inspections, reporting discrepancies, completing required documentation, and collaborating with other departments to resolve non-compliance issues. Additionally, the employee will conduct pre-operational and operational sanitation inspections, complete Quality and Food Safety, CCP, and sanitation paperwork, and perform GMP and Sanitation audits with documented corrective actions. Maintaining KPI's and score cards to drive continuous improvement and advocating for safety are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or knowledge equivalent to.
  • Competency in reading and writing English is required.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Ability to use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Work Processing Software.
  • Ability to learn to do cut floor QA, Harvest QA and FSQA Auditor positions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure overall quality and food safety of products and materials at various stages of the production process.
  • Analyze and test product to ensure they meet established quality standards.
  • Continuously inspect product, plant, employees, and equipment on the manufacturing floor to ensure quality and food safety standards are met.
  • Sample finished products to assure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Conduct metal detector checks, blade inspections, etc.
  • Report discrepancies and violations along with solutions to the Quality Assurance Supervisor immediately.
  • Complete required documentation (quality, food safety and test forms) honestly and accurately.
  • Works with other departments to implement procedure changes involving raw materials/finished goods to remedy the cause of any non-compliance as quickly as possible.
  • Conduct pre-operational sanitation inspections.
  • Conduct operational sanitation inspections.
  • Complete Quality and Food Safety, CCP and sanitation paperwork that should ultimately result in no FS deviations.
  • Conduct GMP and Sanitation audits as directed with documented corrective actions and follow-up as necessary.
  • Maintain KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and score cards to drive continuous improvement.
  • Advocate and maintain a strong commitment to safety in the operating process.
