QA Specialist

Clarity

About The Position

As Clarity grows and our product surface area expands, quality has to scale with it. We are hiring our first dedicated QA Specialist to own manual testing across the platform and raise the bar on release confidence, correctness, and overall product reliability. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys digging into complex workflows, thinking through edge cases, and partnering closely with Product and Engineering to catch real issues before customers see them. You’ll take clear ownership of testing, help unblock teams as features move toward release, and play a foundational role in shaping how quality is practiced at Clarity.

Requirements

  • You’ve worked at and prefer startup environments
  • You have 3+ years of experience in a web application QA focused role
  • You have some exposure to writing test automation and are interested in continuing to grow in this area
  • You’re comfortable validating data with SQL, and interpreting errors & logs
  • You have excellent attention to detail and strong written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Own hands-on manual testing across Clarity’s web applications, validating new features against acceptance criteria, identifying edge cases and regressions across core workflows, and performing exploratory testing prior to release.
  • Define and execute acceptance criteria for new features, including writing and validating test scenarios (e.g., Gherkin-style or equivalent) in partnership with Product and Engineering.
  • Reproduce, document, and triage bugs using Linear, partnering closely with engineers to ensure issues are well understood.
  • Validate data and system behavior using tools such as API clients (GraphiQL, Postman), basic SQL queries, and monitoring / observability tools (Metabase, Sentry, Datadog).
  • Contribute lightweight test automation where it adds leverage, such as filling coverage gaps, regression checks, or validating critical paths outside of active feature work, in collaboration with Engineering.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Help define and improve QA processes, tools, and best practices as Clarity’s first dedicated QA hire.

Benefits

  • Fully remote team and work environment
  • Generous PTO
  • Company sponsored get togethers / off sites
  • Stock – every team member has some level of ownership in Clarity
  • Competitive compensation
  • 100% company sponsored health, medical, and dental insurance
