About The Position

The QA/QC Technician is responsible for supporting the quality assurance and quality control efforts for electrical installations on a designated project site. This role ensures that all electrical work is performed in compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, safety standards, and company quality expectations. The QA/QC Technician works closely with field leadership, project management, and subcontractors to identify deficiencies early, document findings, and support corrective actions—helping deliver a safe, compliant, and high-quality installation. This role is assigned to one project location and is not intended to float between jobs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction.
  • Strong working knowledge of: NEC
  • Electrical drawings and specifications
  • Electrical installation best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in an active construction environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with field and management teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrician license (TX or reciprocal experience).
  • Previous QA/QC, inspection, or commissioning support experience.
  • Experience on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with client-driven quality programs (manufacturing, semiconductor, mission-critical, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily and periodic inspections of electrical installations to ensure compliance with: Project drawings and specifications
  • NEC and applicable local code
  • Client quality standards and commissioning requirements
  • Verify proper installation of: Conduit, cable tray, and raceway systems
  • Wire and cable terminations
  • Panels, switchgear, transformers, and equipment
  • Grounding and bonding systems
  • Identify non-conforming work and document deficiencies clearly and objectively.
  • Complete inspection reports, checklists, and punch lists in accordance with project QA/QC requirements.
  • Track deficiencies through resolution and verify corrective actions.
  • Maintain organized QA/QC records, including: Inspection logs
  • Test results
  • As-built markups (as required)
  • Support turnover documentation and commissioning readiness.
  • Work closely with Foremen, Superintendents, and Project Managers to address quality issues proactively.
  • Communicate findings in a professional, solutions-oriented manner.
  • Participate in quality meetings, walk-downs, and client inspections as needed.
  • Support coordination with other trades to prevent rework or quality conflicts.
  • Ensure work observed meets project safety standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Stop work and notify leadership if unsafe or non-compliant conditions are identified.
  • Reinforce company expectations related to workmanship, cleanliness, and professionalism.
