About The Position

The position is responsible for establishment, implementation, and monitoring of the centralized Quality Assurance for the Mammography Department under the direction of the Department Administrator, Breast Mammography Manager and with collaboration of the Medical Physicist . This role oversees all technical quality assurance, equipment testing, and documentation across all mammography units and locations to ensure the highest level of image quality and patient safety. They will function as the administrative and technical leaders for ensuring all goals for quality, safety, compliance, and accreditations are met. They will lead the Mammography team to coordinate improvement efforts, manage departmental policies, and educate on the latest guidelines and regulations from ACR, DOH, MQSA, and other regulating bodies.

Requirements

  • Required: ARRT with an advanced modality in Mammography and 3-5 years in a supervisory/management role
  • Deep understanding of MQSA/FDA regulations and ACR Quality Control Manuals.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and internal and external public relations skills.
  • Experience and success in problem/issue identification, documentation, tracking and resolution with consideration of inspection deadlines .
  • Proficient PC skills include ability to compile spreadsheets for data collection.
  • Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, MS Project) or comparable products.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with a high level of technical expertise.
  • Ability to travel to satellite locations as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience using clinical registration/scheduling and documentation software.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Prior managerial or leadership experience.
  • Prior experience leading or significantly assisting in a successful MQSA inspection is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance functions to accomplish business coordination, monitoring, and reporting of quality assurance studies.
  • Develop and implement auditing system for new employees and anyone that is in the process of receiving additional training.
  • Willingness to act as a mentor/trainer for staff technologists regarding QC procedures.
  • Establish incentive and motivation techniques for supervisors to utilize when handling quality assurance.
  • Identify consistent recommendations for supervisors to follow when proper quality standards are not met.
  • Publish organizational quality scores consistently.
  • Work with operational leadership, training personnel, and reporting personnel to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate quality assessment needs.
  • Reviews, tracks, and communicates information regarding process variations and communicates to management.
  • Maintains current and accurate records of all relevant communications, audits, corrective action plans, and effective monitoring.
  • Provide recommendations for process and workflow improvements on an ongoing basis.
  • Participates in meetings/work groups to ensure communication and knowledge of operational activities and assist with initial training on functions/workflow changes.
  • Anticipate and communicate future training needs.
  • Work with managers, training department, and reporting department to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate quality assessment needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Familiarity with New Jersey DEP regulatory requirements
  • Responsible to ensure departments up to date on Evicore Compliance/ Readiness Compliance Responsibility includes Contrast Extravasation follow up/ Committee QA Assurance Program & Committee Meeting Responsibility
  • Maintain Mammography Policy & Procedure implantation & updates
  • Ensures quality of all patient Mammography services.
  • Maintains and updates the FDA/MQSA records.
  • Manage the tracking of Lead Interpreting Physician (LIP) attestations, radiologist credits (CME), and technologist continuing education (CEU) to meet MQSA requirements .
  • Reports and maintains qualification numbers for both staff and radiologists
  • Trains all Mammography technologists for better utilization of resources and overall workflow within the sites.
  • Trains new staff as well as being able to re-educate current staff on positioning.
  • Works with Mammography leads and screening coordinators and reviews quarterly Mammo stats, results, and testing.
  • Collaborating with Ultrasound leads to Imaging related to all breast studies, help in standardizing processes, competencies and training of new technologists.
  • Liaison between Radiology group, staff, Site Managers, referring community, etc.
  • Pursues and maintains ACR Accreditation in all centers that provide Mammography services and MQSA inspections.
  • Maintains MQSA, EQUIP and other FDA Mammography requirements
  • Maintains BIRADS tracking including biopsies, ensure all pathology results are tracked and recorded.
  • Assists Director of Operations and Site Managers as other duties are assigned.
  • Maintain relationships and work with all Radiology site leadership, Oncology, Breast Surgery, Marketing, and Imaging RN’s
  • Adheres to the Company's policies and procedures.
  • Promote the organization's culture, mission, vision, and values across the entire region to all stakeholders.
  • Other duties at the discretion of leadership.
