About The Position

We are currently searching for an experienced QA/QC Specialist Level 1 to support our Program Management Group located in Alabama. Volkert is seeking a QA/QC Specialist Level 1 to support compliance and file review activities for a federally funded program. This role is responsible for reviewing funding requests, verifying documentation, and ensuring adherence to program requirements and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, data analysis skills, and the ability to work in a structured, compliance-driven environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 1–2 years of experience in a professional office setting
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in a grant-funded or compliance-driven environment
  • Experience with grant documentation and audit file preparation
  • Familiarity with federal regulations and program compliance standards
  • Experience with grants management or case management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage intake of funding requests and review supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Conduct routine and targeted QA/QC file reviews to ensure compliance with program requirements
  • Verify documentation aligns with applicable federal regulations and program policies
  • Document QA/QC review results and provide clear recommendations for corrective action
  • Track and report on file review findings and common deficiencies
  • Coordinate with intake and program staff to resolve documentation issues
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready records
