About The Position

We are currently searching for an experienced QA/QC Specialist Level 2 to support our Program Management Group located in Alabama. The QA/QC Specialist is responsible for ensuring all program files, documentation, and processes comply with federal, state, and program-specific requirements for the federally funded program. This role plays a critical part in maintaining audit readiness and ensuring program integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in grant programs, compliance, QA/QC, or program monitoring
  • Strong understanding of documentation standards and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with federally funded programs (e.g., ARPA, CDBG, FEMA, or similar)
  • Experience supporting audits or monitoring reviews
  • Familiarity with case management or grants management systems (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset

  • Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines effectively
  • Problem-solving and process improvement mindset

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed quality assurance/quality control reviews of program files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Verify documentation aligns with applicable regulations (e.g., 2 CFR Part 200, program policies, and state requirements)
  • Review intake and eligibility files prior to approval
  • Identify deficiencies and issue corrective actions with clear guidance to staff
  • Track QA/QC findings, trends, and recurring issues
  • Support audit preparation and monitoring reviews
  • Collaborate with intake and program staff to resolve documentation gaps
  • Assist in developing and refining QA/QC procedures and checklists
