QA/QC Manager

About The Position

The Quality Assurance / Quality Control Manager is charged with overall responsibility for quality assurance, quality control, welding inspections and other inspections and documentation on the site, turnaround projects.

Requirements

  • Experience with full implementation of QA/QC program requirements in turnaround operational environment
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in corrective action program implementation, causal analysis, and trend analysis
  • Commitment to and champion for safety conscious work environment and nuclear safety culture
  • Analytical and logic reasoning skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be certified with AWS CWI, API 650/653
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor environments; outdoor environments will include a variety of harsh weather conditions, including but not limited to extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, sleet and snow.
  • Previous experience conducting QA/QC training programs to all levels of personnel.
  • A valid driver's license with clean driving records.
  • Excellent communication skills are required, both written and verbal, including interpersonal and leadership abilities as well as moderate to advanced computer and presentation skills.
  • 10+ years of progressive QA/QC experience
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an interface between contractor supervision and client inspection personnel.
  • Responsibilities include assisting client inspection/engineering personnel in the preparation of plans, drawings, welding procedures, inspection requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage contractor QA/QC personnel and sub-contract inspection personnel and monitoring the work quality and quantity of outside contractors.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the verification and documentation of all work is completed to applicable codes, standards and client specifications and for the planning and control of welding materials, welding procedures and welding operations.
  • Work with all personnel engaged in these projects including executives, project management, HSE peers, operational personnel, unionized craft personnel, clients and regulators.
  • Work and influence client and organizational leadership to set priorities, solidify relationships, while possessing the ability to ensure company and client compliance with QA/QC specifications.
  • Facilitate APTIM training as part of new employee orientation program, training to include site-wide QA/QC training requirements for craft and supervision.
