QA Manager

iDrive LogisticsLehi, UT

About The Position

We're looking for a QA Manager who is ready to step in and drive quality across the iDrive platform, bringing a comprehensive and balanced approach to how we test our products. We have solid automation in place (Node.js API test harnesses and Cypress UI suites), but automation alone doesn’t catch everything. We need a leader who is comfortable with hands-on exploratory and manual testing just as much as automation development, and who knows when each approach is the right tool for the job. We’re also investing in AI-assisted tools to accelerate our team’s velocity, so you should be ready to leverage AI technology to increase coverage and efficiency within your area of focus. You’ll be the authority on quality across the iDrive API and UI products, from carrier rate-shopping to billing, analytics, label printing, and reporting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in QA roles, with 2+ years of experience leading a QA team
  • An opinionated stance on when to automate and when not to. Ideally, you've seen what happens when teams over-rely on either approach
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript test automation, including Cypress (or similar E2E frameworks) and Node.js-based API testing
  • Skilled at exploratory and manual testing. You can sit down with the product and find the quality issues that would be hard to catch with automations alone.
  • Curiosity and interest in AI-assisted development and testing. Ideally, you're already experimenting with AI coding tools or are eager to start.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Familiarity with logistics, shipping, supply chain, or TMS software is a strong plus!
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to persuasively translate quality risk into business impact when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ecommerce fulfillment, warehousing, multi-carrier shipping, or rating/billing logic.
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants or AI-driven testing tools (Copilot, Claude, Codium, etc.)
  • Familiarity with contract testing and/or API schema validation.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS) and modern application environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor an existing remote QA team while using AI tools and workflows to scale testing capacity efficiently
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI-assisted test generation, bug detection, and coverage analysis to amplify what a small team can deliver in quality control
  • Establish and maintain a balanced testing strategy: Automation for regression testing and scalability, manual & exploratory testing for new features, edge cases, and UI/UX quality
  • Own the exiting Node.js API and Cypress UI test suites; knowing when to extend them and when hands-on testing is a better time investment
  • Drive test coverage across critical workflows to keep our system bulletproof: Carrier optimization, rate calculation, billing accuracy, shipment life cycle, and analytics
  • Personally engage in exploratory testing, especially around releases of new features that are customer-facing and foster that discipline across the team
  • Define QA standards, release-readiness criteria, and defect triage processes
  • Foster good relationships with Engineering and Product teams to enhance our culture of quality at both ends of the SDLC process
  • Track quality metrics and report on trends to company leadership

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and potential for equity
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous PTO allowance
  • A great office workspace with well-stocked snack bar in the beautiful Silicon Slopes area of Lehi, Utah
  • A collaborative and experienced engineering team solving real problems in logistics
  • The chance to work on a platform trusted by high-volume shippers and enterprise brands
