About The Position

The QA Technician supports the manufacturing facility by ensuring all products meet established quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role performs routine lab testing, production line checks, environmental monitoring, and documentation activities to verify compliance with internal programs, customer requirements, and federal regulations (FDA, USDA, FSMA, etc.). The QA Technician works closely with Production, Engineering, and R&D teams to maintain product quality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or laboratory testing.
  • Familiarity with GMPs, sanitation, food safety standards (FDA, SQF, BRC) and microbiological testing,
  • Ability to work in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Able to work on alternate Saturdays.
  • The individual must possess well written and verbal communication skills in English, preferably bilingual in Chinese

Nice To Haves

  • College coursework or degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine quality checks on the production floor, including weights, temperatures, metal detector verification, labeling accuracy, and packaging integrity.
  • Monitor compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), HACCP/Preventive Controls protocols, SQF, and/or BRC requirements.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and verify sanitation effectiveness.
  • Identify and isolate non-conforming products, coordinate evaluations and disposition decisions.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Communicate quality issues promptly to leadership and production personnel.
  • Participate in training for employees on food safety, quality procedures, and proper documentation.
  • Support QA Manager with food safety, quality compliance, and audit readiness activities.
  • Conduct microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, environmental, and sanitation samples.
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate laboratory equipment (pH meters, balances, moisture analyzers, incubators, ATP meters, etc.), following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Prepare media, reagents, and testing solutions following standard laboratory procedures.
  • Record, analyze, interpret test results and verify test results against specifications and determine product acceptability.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory, including proper sample handling and disposal.
  • Assist with lab supply inventory and special quality improvement projects.
