About The Position

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Pyroprocessing Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on our Pyrochemical Science team. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) facility with every Friday off. You will develop cutting-edge technologies for the management and recycling of used nuclear fuels at the MFC. You are expected to develop electrochemical and other experiments in high temperature molten salts, collect experimental data, analyze data, document and publish experimental results. Knowledge and a working background in electrochemical processes in high temperature molten salts is required. Skills such as working in an argon glovebox and handling radioactive materials are preferred.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in chemical engineering, chemistry, electrochemistry, analytical chemistry, nuclear engineering, or related field having been conferred within the past 5 years, or the PhD requirements must be completed by commencement of the Postdoctoral appointment.
  • Hands-on experience and publications in molten salt electrochemistry

  • Experience in proposal writing and capture of funding opportunities.
