PYO Attendant Seasonal
About The Position
Pineland Farms Produce Division is looking for friendly faces to help at our Pick-Your-Own stand this summer. A great gig for entry-level candidates or someone looking to add a fun, outdoor job to their summer schedule. Our season is busiest during the strawberry season (mid-June thru mid-July) when employee schedule availability is essential. We are open 7 days/week, 7am - 1pm with extended hours Thurs-Sun (open until 6pm). Mon-Wed shifts are 6:30am - 1:30pm. Thursday-Sunday shifts are 6:30am - 12:45pm and 12:30pm - 6:30pm. The season starts mid-June and runs through the end of blueberries in late August. Flexible schedules available - work 5 days/week or a couple of days per week. Must be 16 or older by June 2026 to be eligible for employment.
Requirements
- Ability to work as a member of a team and ability to work independently.
- Ability to interact with the public using a pleasant and helpful demeanor.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve.
- Ability to make correct change efficiently
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving in standardized situations.
Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service and a great experience to all costumers and visitors
- Operating registers using POS (Point of Sale) system and Square
- Handling cash and making change.
- Transport costumers in a ranger/UTV as needed
- Cleaning within and around the stand including porta- potties
- Keep the stand tidy and stocked including but not limited to, fresh produce, water and cut flowers.
- Assist with cut flowers including but not limited to, weeding, deadheading and making flower bunches.
- Harvest fruits and vegetables
- Assist with various events at the farm, including but not limited to Strawberry Moon Festival and Sips and Snips.
- The use of garden tools including but not limited to, rakes, hoes and shovels.
