About The Position

This requisition is to establish a candidate pool for PVAMU students who are interested in participating in the PV STEP Intern program for Summer 2026. This is a candidate pool only and is ONLY open to PVAMU students. Your application does not guarantee that you will be selected at this time. Job Description: Multiple Vacant Positions Available. BUSINESS AFFAIRS Auxiliary Services Campus Planning & Space Management Center for Information Technology Excellence (CITE) Facilities & Risk Management Financial Management Services Procurement & Disbursement Service STRATEGY & TRANSFORMATION Human Resources Marketing and Communications University Compliance University Police Department STUDENT AFFAIRS (includes operational units listed below) Career Services Dean of Students Disability & Health Services Enrollment Management Housing & Residential Life International Programs Multicultural Affairs Rec Sports & Athletics University Advancement Veterans Services The PV STEP Intern, under general supervision, will assist the department in which they are hired with daily operations, special projects, and other duties deemed necessary by the supervisor. PVAMU seeks to establish a POOL of qualified applicants for potential employment in the as a PV STEP Intern for the Summer 2026 semester. This position is for a 10-week program (06/15/2026 - 8/21/2026), in which student employees will gain valuable knowledge about a specific work environment, while also receiving quality training. Internships can help confirm a student’s choice of major. This is a non-benefit eligible position, with work available for up to 30 hours per week (hours will vary based on departmental needs).

Requirements

• Current PVAMU undergraduate or graduate student
• Successfully completed courses during the Spring 2026 semester
• Enrolled in the Summer 2026 semester or preregistered for the Fall 2026 semester
• Must be a junior level classification or higher
• Minimum of 2.5 GPA
• Be in good academic standing
• Submit all required attachments, listed below, to this application (Failure to do so will result in removal from the applicant pool)
• Commit to the entire internship experience (10 weeks, 30 hours a week)
• Provide a “Project Summary” at the end of the program (no later than 08/21/2026)

Responsibilities

• Duties will vary by departmental need, but the duties of a PV STEP Interns are beyond those of typical student worker position, with specific goals and/or projects that are related to the students chosen career path that must be completed by the end of the 10-week employment period.
• Students are required to commit to the entire 10-week program, submit required documents to their application, and provide a “Project Summary” at the end of their internship program.
