About The Position
Join ODL Inc. as a Purchasing & Supply Chain Intern, where you’ll gain hands-on experience in supplier development, procurement strategy, and cross-functional collaboration. This internship will provide real-world exposure to the key aspects of purchasing and supply chain management, equipping you with skills that will stand out on your resume. Under the direction of the Purchasing team, you’ll assist with the tactical and strategic execution of commodity plans, supplier negotiations, continuous improvement initiatives, and process documentation. Your work will directly contribute to ODL’s supply chain efficiency, supplier relationships, and corporate purchasing strategies. The Impact You’ll Drive: Support Purchasing staff in supplier development efforts, ensuring alignment with ODL’s expectations for safety, product quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency. Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, operations, logistics, etc.) to execute cross-functional projects. Participate in internal and external supplier negotiations. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and documentation of purchasing processes and procedures. Lead a strategic summer project that will provide meaningful impact to the business and be presented to ODL’s executive leadership team. Conduct market research and data analysis to support sourcing strategies. Assist in evaluating supplier performance and driving corrective actions when necessary. Potential for local and domestic travel to support supplier engagement activities. Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in supplier relationship management and procurement strategy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to learn and take initiative on projects.
