About The Position

The Purchasing Supervisor, HPB is responsible for leading the purchasing activities that support the HPB side of the business, with a primary focus on project delivery, production support, and coordination across planning and operations. This role oversees buyers assigned to HPB and ensures materials, components, and services are available to meet production schedules, project timelines, and customer requirements. The position plays a key role in working with planning to communicate accurate forecasts to suppliers and supporting operations to maintain continuity and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment required.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of forecasting, material planning, supplier coordination, and production support.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including planning and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of buyers supporting the HPB side of the business.
  • Support project delivery by ensuring material availability aligns with project schedules and operational requirements.
  • Partner closely with planning to review demand, validate forecasts, and communicate accurate requirements to suppliers.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials needed to support production and project execution.
  • Support production by helping resolve material shortages, delivery issues, and supplier-related disruptions.
  • Collaborate with operations to align purchasing priorities with plant needs and changing business demands.
  • Monitor supplier performance with an emphasis on delivery, responsiveness, and reliability.
  • Review and help prioritize purchase orders and material needs based on project schedules and production requirements.
  • Assist in managing supply continuity for ongoing projects and increased business volume.
  • Train, mentor, and support the development of buyers on the HPB side of the business.
  • Work cross-functionally with planning, operations, engineering, and production teams to ensure purchasing activities support overall business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, procedures, and standards.
