About The Position

NC Custom, a division of Nassau Candy, is a rapidly growing custom importer, manufacturer, and designer of logo-based and design-driven products across the apparel, drinkware, edible, personal care, and related industries. We are seeking a Purchasing / Sourcing Agent to join our growing promotional products division in Ronkonkoma, NY. This role is responsible for sourcing products, managing vendor relationships, issuing purchase orders, and supporting inventory and production planning to ensure timely fulfillment and customer satisfaction. The Purchasing / Sourcing Agent is responsible for sourcing hard goods both domestically and internationally, managing purchase orders, and coordinating with internal teams to support inventory availability, production schedules, and customer demand.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Some college coursework preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Source hard goods (blank and decorated) from domestic and international suppliers
  • Issue, update, and manage purchase orders with vendors and suppliers
  • Set up new items and vendors in ERP systems
  • Maintain ongoing communication with vendors regarding pricing, availability, and lead times
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure orders are produced and shipped on schedule
  • Update purchase orders with accurate delivery dates and status changes
  • Maintain high-volume Microsoft Excel reports to track large-quantity items and support inventory planning
  • Actively utilize ERP systems to schedule orders with Production Management based on inventory receipts and customer demand
  • Work closely with Import and Supply Chain Managers on outsourced production jobs
  • Communicate with Customer Service, Warehouse, Production, and Supply Chain teams regarding order status, issues, or concerns
  • Support internal teams to ensure timely receipt and distribution of goods
  • Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned
