About The Position

SUMMARY: Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Team Member must complete food safe program provided by the Casino.
  • Team Member must get certified to drive a forklift.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and deals with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration needed to perform assigned duties in highly disruptive conditions.

  • Computer literate in appropriate software

Responsibilities

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Determines method of shipment
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons
  • Inserts items into containers
  • Secures packages with nails, binding straps, or tape
  • Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Routes items to departments
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Maintains inventory of shipping material and supplies
  • Operates forklift or uses hand truck to move or hoist shipments from shipping receiving platform to storage or work area
  • Responsible for maintaining stock of Team Dining Room (T.D.R.) on a daily basis
  • Coordinates and processes all return-to-vendor requests
  • Processes all claims for damaged foods received
  • Orders and purchases items for the Casino
  • Counts month end inventory
  • Inputs received and distributed inventory data into computerized inventory system
  • Issues items from warehouse to other casino departments per standing order or new request
  • Produces, maintains, and distributes warehouse inventory transfer documentation to other casino departments with copies to Accounting
  • Must maintain warehouse
  • Must be available nights and weekends
  • Prioritize jobs that have been requested by other departments.
  • Other duties as assigned
