About The Position

Overall Purpose: The Purchasing/Production Planner selects and negotiates with approved vendors to place purchase orders in response to product requirements. The Purchasing/Production Planner interfaces between the manufacturing/operations, purchasing planning and inventory control functions to determine the most efficient Production Plan to ensure inventory for finished goods is maintained at a level specified by management. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare the Production Plan based on forecast and promotional requirements, as well as company inventory guidelines Negotiate price, delivery terms and production time lines with current suppliers and vendors Identify cost savings Develop new suppliers as required Write Job Travelers and Purchase Orders Ensure all Material Requirements Planning (MRP) dates are maintained and updated Ensure desired MRP quantities are properly documented and orders for materials are placed in a timely manner Ensure components and services are available in a timely manner as required for production Ensure the required capacities are reserved to meet required production demand Coordinate with appropriate manufacturing personnel to solve problems related to the Production Schedule, such as material shortage status, rejection, scrap, re-work, etc. Prepare manufacturing plan to meet demand requirements Analyze material shortages, review order progress and adjust plans and schedules Maintain excellent team-oriented working relationships among all Hydraflow employees Recommend alternative materials management and planning strategies to management Maintain good manufacturing practice guidelines and behaviors Adhere to 5S Standards Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety Other Duties: Other duties based on the needs of the Production Control Department The preceding functions have been provided as examples of the type of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Qualification Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university 2+ years Purchasing/Planning/Scheduling experience Manufacturing or Quality background preferred Demonstrated MRP knowledge Excellent organizational and communication skills Strong attention to detail Excellent analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand) Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) Physical Demands: While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to: Sit Use hands and fingers to handle, type or feel Reach with hands and arms Speak or hear While performing duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to: Stand Walk Work Environment: Standard office environment with occasional trips to the manufacturing area Must be a U.S. Person based on ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 2+ years Purchasing/Planning/Scheduling experience
  • Demonstrated MRP knowledge
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)
