The Purchasing Manager is responsible and accountable for vender selection, assessing vender capabilities, developing alternate sources, evaluating vendor performance, and reducing cost of ownership of purchased materials. You will make an impact in this role by: Developing and implementing appropriate procedures to ensure all purchased materials and services conform to documented requirements and that the terms and conditions of purchases are appropriate. Coordinating follow-up to improve customer service and maintain department records. Overseeing and directing activities of purchasing department. Supplier evaluation and selections. Contract negotiations. Coordinating procurement activities and contracts with global subsidiaries. Developing and implementing supplier quality management systems for continual improvements. Ensuring statutory and regulatory requirements are met in procurement of products and services. Traveling to suppliers and conducting on-site assessments of supplier’s products, facilities, capabilities and quality management systems.
