About The Position
Julius Silvert is looking for an experienced Purchasing Leader to optimize sourcing strategies, strengthen supplier relationships, and improve inventory efficiencies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, systematic, and thrives in a fast-paced food distribution environment. We are considering candidates at the Manager, Director, OR Vice President level.
Requirements
- 5+ years of purchasing leadership experience in food distribution.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a team of Buyers and Category Manager
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies for specialty food products.
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and competitive pricing.
- Partner with sales teams to manage aged inventory and assess new product viability.
- Optimize purchasing operations by improving contract management and freight coordination.
- Analyze supplier performance and adjust strategies to maximize efficiency.
