About The Position

These positions are primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational and training experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in an actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the department. These positions are located at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City, Utah, other deployed locations in the Salt Lake City area, and the Riverton Office Building in Riverton, Utah. The intern must be able to work on-site at the office, as directed by the respective team. There is some flexibility to work around the intern’s class schedule. This is a 12-month internship. Hours worked must be between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Hours worked will not exceed 20 hours per week. This internship position represents a unique and exciting opportunity to work with highly skilled professionals, receive great pay, and contribute to the Lord's work in a meaningful way. Some of the responsibilities of the intern may include vendor relationship development and management, contract negotiation and completion of contracts for the acquisition of services, operational tasks, data analytics and reporting. Additional duties will vary based on the team assignment. Responsibilities may vary by assignment depending on department and need. The Intern receives assignments from supervising staff. The Manager reviews the Intern's work occasionally. The supervisor reviews each assignment as it is completed. The Intern is expected to meet rigid and challenging deadlines, work in harmony with other people, take direction on each assignment, and give full attention to detail. Independence in working, tact, and diplomacy are required. Sound judgment of Church doctrine, history, organization, policy and protocol are also expected.

Requirements

  • Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation
  • Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and maintain temple worthiness.
  • They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter

Nice To Haves

  • Background in finance, accounting, law, supply chain, industrial engineering or a field related to this work is desired
  • Confident in using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerBI, OneNote, OneDrive, Teams)
  • Proven organizational skills, detail oriented
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to interact well in a team environment
  • Excellent understanding and ability to communicate in English
