Job Responsibilities: POSITION OVERVIEW The Purchasing Intern will be assisting the Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors, & Lighting Purchasing Team with purchasing related tasks and projects, as well as data and process analysis to directly related to procurement management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Currently Attending a College or University
  • Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong technical and analytical competence in select areas of technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Academic performance and career interest in Procurement management preferred

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential new suppliers.
  • Communicate with vendors to get product information and negotiate prices.
  • Track order status and resolve any issues with deliveries and discrepancies.
  • Assist in creating and processing purchase orders.
  • Review and compare supplier quotes and proposals.
  • Help with data analysis and spend analysis to find cost-saving opportunities.
  • Contribute to preparing reports on procurement activities and supplier performance.
  • Work with other departments like finance and logistics to coordinate needs.
  • Support the Purchasing Team by participating in meetings and providing administrative assistance.
  • Assist with market research to stay informed about industry needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities.
