About The Position

The Purchasing and Financial Assistant plays a key role in supporting the business and financial operations of the Children's Developmental Services Agency of Western North Carolina. Approximately 95% of the position's responsibilities focus on financial and administrative functions, including: Procurement and Accounts Payable: Managing purchasing activities, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate records for accounts payable. Motor Fleet Coordination: Assisting in the co-management of the motor fleet for the Asheville office. Asset and Inventory Management: Tagging fixed assets, coordinating surplus and supply tracking, and maintaining inventory records. Database Maintenance: Updating and managing databases related to fixed assets, purchase requisitions, and invoices. Administrative Support: Receiving referrals and providing front desk/reception assistance as needed. The remaining 5% of the role includes: Supporting the maintenance and coordination of central office equipment. Assisting staff with office equipment troubleshooting. Providing backup support for medical records. Participating in special projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; OR
  • equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience using correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling and office terminology to compose and/or proofread correspondence, reports and other materials.
  • Experienced in learning and independently applying organizational procedures and guidelines as well as regulations covering state requirements.
  • Proven experience in independently working with people with courtesy and tact in performing public contact duties.
  • Experience with accounts payable.
