Purchasing Coordinator (Parts Room)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Organize and maintain maintenance stores inventory (both physically and in the maintenance information system). Issue items/equipment to maintenance and plant personnel. Update the maintenance information system to reflect current stock levels of parts. Ensure min/max levels of critical spares/items are maintained to limit maintenance related downtime due to spare parts stock-outs. Periodically review ordered parts not on “critical spares” list to determine if items should be added. Reviews and conducts follow-ups of high priority requisitions/purchases placed by maintenance dept. personnel and any maintenance related purchases. Performs periodic vendor analysis and makes recommendation relating to results. Facilitates the requisition and purchasing activities of all maintenance related activity and others with authority to requisition materials or services. Maintain familiarity with available sources of recurring vendors and purchased products/services. Be knowledgeable of operating parameters that influence GFS continuously placed orders of machine parts, and other operating materials. Reviews requisitions and converts to a purchase order or makes recommendation to department personnel for cost efficient and correct order placement. Acts as the liaison between the company’s users and vendors in securing prices, delivery, specifications, and quotations for select material purchases. Requirements

Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
Strong knowledge of SAP.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes and procedures.
Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in working with machinery.
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
5+ years manufacturing experience.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of injection molding machines, extrusion molding machines, and other Georg Fischer equipment highly preferred.
Experience working in a fast paced, high change environment
