As a Purchasing Assistant you will be responsible for managing the purchasing process for the categories of goods, with the aim of increasing the generation of value for the business and to create new business-financial opportunities in accordance with the established company strategies, guidelines and procedures. The hourly rate for this role is $26.44 an hour.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management or equivalent business experience.
  • 3+ years’ Purchasing and Customer Service experience in a manufacturing industry
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organization skills with ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Customer service – internal and external
  • Experience with SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate purchasing terms with suppliers and in compliance with the set objectives, in order to meet the expectations of the internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the categories of goods in accordance with the technical requirements concerned and in the interest of business optimization.
  • Promote the development of economies of scale and the improvement and optimization of relationships, making uniform and centralizing control of the Suppliers Management/purchasing process.
  • Participate in the supplier selection process.
  • Monitor the suitability of the requirements of suppliers in relation to the needs of the group.
  • Implement the best practices for managing the purchasing process.
  • Interface with the organizational positions of the Sofidel America Purchasing Department and the other corporate departments in the execution of their operations
