About The Position

The Purchasing Assistant supports the purchasing, inventory, and administrative functions of our commercial kitchen equipment repair operations. This role assists with ordering parts, maintaining accurate records, supporting multiple departments, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, entry-level professional who is a team player, able to take direction, and thrive within well-established processes.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED or the equivalent
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in purchasing
Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the purchasing field.
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills
Aptitude to clarify assigned tasks and expectations and then work independently to complete assignments

Responsibilities

Assist with purchasing commercial kitchen equipment parts, tools, and supplies
Create, process, and track purchase orders
Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and order status
Track and follow up on open orders to ensure timely delivery
Receive and verify incoming shipments; resolve discrepancies or damaged items
Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and vendor records
Support inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and reordering
Coordinate with service technicians and operations staff to prioritize urgent parts needs
Assist with vendor setup, documentation, and invoice reconciliation
Perform data entry with a high level of accuracy
Assist with general administrative duties as needed to support the company’s success
Provide administrative support to other departments, including dispatching, estimates, and customer care
Assist with special projects and operational tasks as assigned
