Position Closes at 4:00 pm on Friday, February 20, 2026 Minimum Qualifications Education & Experience Two (2) years of purchasing, warehousing, or related experience (utility industry experience preferred) High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver's license required Specialized purchasing training or certification is helpful Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a closely related field preferred Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered Key Responsibilities Assist in operational purchasing for electrical materials, equipment, tools, office supplies, and other company needs Prepare requests for bids, review vendor proposals, and support major purchasing decisions Ensure compliance with purchasing, bidding, and procurement policies Coordinate with department heads, field supervisors, suppliers, and vendors to plan material and equipment needs Develop blanket purchase orders to reduce emergency purchasing situations Negotiate pricing, monitor inventory levels, establish reorder points, and ensure timely delivery or pickup Initiate purchase orders, track shipments, verify receipts, approve invoices, and resolve discrepancies Perform related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of purchasing, warehousing, shipping, and receiving processes Familiarity with power line systems, components, and construction methods Working knowledge of inventory systems, basic accounting principles, and office software (spreadsheets, purchasing systems) Strong organizational, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to build effective working relationships with vendors, staff, and the public Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy loads and perform physical tasks as required Ability to maintain confidentiality and understand security risks Work Environment This position operates primarily in an office environment with regular travel as required. Duties may involve standing, walking, lifting, and other physical activities, as well as sustained mental focus, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
