About The Position

John W. Stone Oil Distributor, LLC is the local leader in dockside, mid-streaming, and offshore fueling along the Mississippi River, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Venice, Louisiana, and into the Gulf of Mexico. Essential Job Duties Prepare, edit, review, and maintain requisitions, purchase orders, quotes, bids, and the like for the purchase of industrial, marine, and automotive equipment, supplies, and services, as well as office supplies, raw materials, and the like. Prepare, take, and verify orders for goods and services. Respond to demand for new products. Check inventories. Conduct research on product availability, vendors, pricing, and specifications, including identifying and ordering the proper quantity, negotiating pricing, and overseeing the timely delivery of goods and services needed to fulfill orders. Serve as a liaison between the Purchasing Department and all other company departments, including marine vessels, as well as outside vendors. Ensure arrival of orders for goods and services to the appropriate department or personnel, including marine vessels. Maintain files and records. Adhere to, and communicate and enforce, policies and procedures on behalf of the Purchasing Department. Create and audit purchasing and inventory reports. Perform traditional clerical and administrative duties, such as make copies, scanning, printing documents, and the like. Answer phone and respond to e-mails and letters. Respond to internal and external order inquires. Communicate professionally (verbal and written), and work cooperatively, with all levels of management, co-workers, customers, vendors, and other personnel. Handle all activities with confidentiality, initiative, and independence. Multitask in a fast-paced environment. Meet daily, weekly, and monthly reporting deadlines. Manage difficult or emotional situations while responding promptly to company needs. Assist with special projects on an as-needed basis. Fill in for the receptionist daily at lunch time and as otherwise needed. Physical Requirements: All offers of employment are conditioned on a fit-for-duty physical examination. John W. Requirements

  • At Least 18 Years of Age.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Reliable Transportation to and from Work.
  • High School Diploma (or its equivalent).
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • At Least Two Years Experience in an Administrative Role at a Place of Business.
