Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator @ ACDI A Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing the shipping and logistics of a company or organization. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that products or materials are shipped efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner. Successful team members will be strong leaders in product planning and support ACDI’s mission, vision, and core values. Support a collaborative work environment, including courteous, helpful, and professional behavior. ACDI’S PURCHASING AND LOGISTICS COORDINATORS' RESPONSIBILITIES: The Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the shipping and logistics operations. This includes coordinating shipments, streamlining processes, and ensuring that products and materials are delivered to their destination in a timely and cost-effective manner. While ensuring logistics expectations are met, such as efficient ordering, inventory management, warehouse organization, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field, and a minimum of 2+ years of experience with shipping/logistics, or the equivalent combination of education and experience recommended
  • Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making
  • Curious and comfortable holding professional conversations with our target buyers and users
  • Must be a strong writer and public speaker in front of large, senior groups
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties
  • Strong professional communication skills (via phone, email, and in-person), problem-solving, negotiation skills, technical capacity, project management, and collaboration
  • Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company or team information
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 15+ pounds
  • Ability to travel up to 15% annually or as needed, and fly on a commercial airliner if needed
  • May be required to furnish a passport or other identity documents for international travel

Nice To Haves

  • Subject matter expert/industry experience is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with Google and ZoHo applications sets you apart
  • Experience creating virtual machines, setting up networks, and other general IT-related skills is essential
  • Experience presenting to executive-level management preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the shipping of products or materials, ensuring they are properly packaged.
  • Arrange transportation methods depending on the nature of the shipment.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock levels to ensure products are available for shipping when needed.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize losses and discrepancies.
  • Optimize shipping processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts with carriers and freight forwarders to obtain favorable shipping rates.
  • Ensure that products are handled, stored, and shipped in a manner that maintains their quality and integrity.
  • Address any quality or damage issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Stay up-to-date with shipping regulations, customs requirements, and import/export laws.
  • Ensure that all shipments comply with relevant regulations and documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documents, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs documentation.
  • Ensure accurate and complete record-keeping.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to address shipping-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues related to shipping.
  • Implement safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all shipping areas.
  • Maintain security measures to protect shipments from theft or damage.
  • Maintains a complete understanding of and adheres to all ACDI policies, procedures, and processes
  • Assist in the prep and manufacture of products created and assembled by ACDI
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintain a positive organizational culture while upholding ACDI's mission, vision, and core values
