About The Position

BASIC PURPOSE: The Purchasing Specialist supports the execution of all purchasing functions and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure all vendors and SKUs are properly onboarded and ordered accurately. This role follows processes established by the Distribution Center Manager to optimize efficiency and maximize opportunities. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Process purchasing requisitions, job orders, and project-related equipment/SKUs through final delivery and reporting. Reconcile vendor invoices to ensure accuracy. Prepare and distribute requests for quotes (RFQs), evaluate vendor responses, and assess cost-effectiveness. Maintain frequent communication with internal departments, external partners, and vendors to ensure accountability for order accuracy. Analyze, resolve order conflicts, pricing discrepancies, and supply receipts. Follow established purchasing procedures, departmental SOPs, and safety standards. Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Process vendor and SKU onboarding, including: Data management and accuracy. Serving as the final checkpoint for SKU setup prior to purchase order issuance and pricing/program finalization. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather required vendor information and establish direct communication channels. Participate in inventory counts, as needed. Assist with order fulfillment to include shipping/receiving as needed. Assist with logistics, as needed. Ability to become forklift- certified and assist with loading/unloading trucks, as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in procurement, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build business relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • 2 years of conflict resolution, required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and respectful interpersonal approach.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Relationship-building skills across diverse teams and organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and initiative.
  • Strong memory and basic arithmetic skills for routine calculations.

  • Normal hearing and vision required.
  • Ability to travel as needed, primarily by car, for meetings and company events.
  • During inventory counts, prolonged standing, stooping, and bending.
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment, around loud equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred.
  • Inventory management preferred.
  • SAP and Salesforce, preferred.
