A Purchasing Agent supports production with purchased material to fabricate windows and doors. It is their responsibility to obtain the appropriate quantity of goods in a professional, reliable and responsive manner at the negotiated price while meeting quality, schedule and performance requirements specified by the Marvin company. Highlights of your role Maintain MRP Drivers: Regularly update MRP systems to ensure optimal inventory levels based on production schedules. Supplier Accountability: Conduct meetings with suppliers to review performance and discuss improvements. Purchase Price Variance Review: Analyze discrepancies between expected and actual purchase prices, verify changes, and implement cost reductions. Supplier Scorecard Review: Assess supplier performance and manage risks to ensure timely material delivery. Supporting Purchasing Coordinator: Support and train Purchasing Coordinators and assist with responsibilities as needed. Inventory Management: Coordinate with suppliers to maintain adequate inventory levels and align forecasts with production plans. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier performance to ensure timely delivery. Supplier Stocking Plans: Collaborate with suppliers to maintain inventory levels and align forecasts with production plans. Request Quotes: Work with stakeholders and suppliers to quote new materials, parts, and services. Forecast Sharing: Send regular forecasts to key suppliers. PPAP Requests: Submit and manage Part Production Approval Process requests. Logistics Coordination: Schedule and track shipments, resolving issues or delays. Production Forecast Updates: Update production forecast data in the MRP system.
