Purpose of Position: Responsible for the timely purchase of items needed to meet production demands and maintain stock inventory levels. Involves both manual and automated purchasing via MRP system. The Purchasing Agent must maintain professional integrity and make ethical choices. Essential Functions: Review MRP reports to determine material requirements and act accordingly. Maintain PO and part system information to ensure it is correct and up to date. Prepare and process PO’s for goods/services needed to meet production demands and maintain stock inventory levels. Maintain the organization and cleanliness level of the parts room. Participate as necessary in return process (e.g., contact supplier, revise PO, etc.). Use technical knowledge to choose suppliers and products to meet production needs. Resolve errors or discrepancies on purchase orders as needed. Approve purchases for payment. Analyze price proposals and other data and information to determine reasonable prices. Perform follow up on late delivery dates. Continuously perform your job safely. Additional Responsibilities: Position requires regular, in-person attendance. Perform follow up on late delivery dates. Ability to work with and as part of a team including but not limited to managers, coworkers, and vendor partnerships. Ability to exercise good judgement in decision making, ideas and all aspects relating to the ROIG team.
