About The Position

As a Purchasing Agent of Parks Metal Products, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services for the organization to ensure the best value and quality. The role involves managing supplier relationships, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with company policies and budgetary constraints. Procurement: o Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery time. o Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best deals. o Place purchase orders and track the status of orders to ensure timely delivery. o Evaluate and select suppliers based on performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. 2. Inventory Management: o Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations. o Coordinate with other departments to understand their purchasing needs and forecasts. o Manage stock replenishment processes and adjust order quantities based on consumption patterns. 3. Vendor Relations: o Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. o Address and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing with suppliers. o Conduct periodic reviews of supplier performance and make recommendations for improvements 4. Budget Management: o Adhere to the company's budgetary guidelines and ensure purchases stay within allocated budgets. o Analyze spending patterns and recommend cost-saving measures. o Prepare reports on purchasing activities and expenditures for management review. 5. Compliance: o Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations. o Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications. o Stay informed about industry trends and changes in procurement regulations. 6. Reporting and Documentation: o Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and supplier performance. o Provide regular updates to management on procurement status and issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of materials or supplies may be required.
