About The Position

PCI is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent for its Boise 548 operations based in Boise, ID. This individual will verify, prepare and forward purchase orders, verify receipt of items and authorize payments. They will also be responsible for the following duties:

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • 2-4 years construction experience
  • 1-2 years purchasing experience
  • Extensive knowledge of:
  • Material work planning and methods engineering processes and procedures
  • Negotiating best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements
  • Warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain management, or similar
  • Proficiency with vendor management systems
  • Local to Boise area

Responsibilities

  • Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.
  • Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery.
  • Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department.
  • Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.
  • Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
  • Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.
  • Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.
  • Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Accomplishes purchasing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
