About The Position

The Purchasing Agent II is responsible for executing more complex procurement activities, including purchasing materials, supplies, and services, qualifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. This role requires experience in managing supplier relationships and improving procurement processes. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a related role. Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience is required. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Proficiency in procurement processes and principles.
• Supply chain or logistics experience.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in procurement or supply chain management [e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)].
• Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
• Advanced knowledge of procurement software and tools.
• Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance.
• Basic accounting skills.
• Procurement experience.
• Experience with major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P)/Source-to-Pay (S2P) systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute procurement activities for materials, supplies, and services under favorable terms.
• Qualify and evaluate suppliers and manage supplier relationships.
• Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers.
• Monitor and ensure supplier quality and on-time delivery.
• Track and analyze procurement performance metrics.
• Maintain and update supplier information databases.
• Resolve supply chain issues and supplier disputes effectively.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand and meet procurement needs.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
