BASIC SCOPE/PURPOSE: As a Pump Mechanic 1 you must be able to support the overall workload of the Repair Center. You shall follow and support the Company policies and protect the assets associated with the operation. Your objective should be to support the Company’s ability to “meet the needs and expectations of the customers”.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and/or Equivalent work experience
  • 3 years’ experience working in centrifugal pump repair shop required
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Analytical thinker

Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and work scopes.
  • Sharpens tools.
  • Reads and works from prints, process sheets, written and verbal instructions to tolerances of .0005”.
  • Uses gauges, calipers, micrometers to measure work.
  • Works with all metallic and non-metallic materials.
  • Works with minimum supervision.
  • Continuous standing and lifting of 5 to 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to follow routine procedures.
  • Must be able to disassemble, repair, reassemble and test recondition components.
  • Must be able to fill out inspection reports.
  • Must be able to use complex equipment requiring continuous attention.
  • Must be able to make minor decisions.
  • Must be available for overtime, call-ins, etc. as needed to meet customer requirements.
  • Must be available for 10-15% traveling, based on field service call out needs.
