About The Position

The Pulmonary Clinic Coordinator coordinates all aspects of the care provided to specific subspecialty pulmonary patients, including both inpatient or outpatient. This role is a supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic and Airway Diseases. Under direct supervision of the provider team, the pulmonary clinic coordinator tracks the progress of patients through their care journey. Tasks include screening patients for eligibility, gathering outside medical records, pending orders for provider review, coordinating prior authorization, and confirming appropriate scheduling of follow-up visits. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining the disease patient registry and coordinating disease-specific meetings. The coordinator may also facilitate disease support group activities and patient/provider education on their assigned pulmonary diseases. The coordinator acts as a liaison and resource for their assigned pulmonary diseases between the clinic and other departments throughout the hospital and outpatient practices. They will be expected to participate in quality improvement activities and academic activities.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) approved Respiratory Therapy program or graduate of a bachelor's degree in a nursing program.
  • Knowledge of Pulmonary diseases is required.
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
  • Active Florida Respiratory Therapist License or current RN license
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required
