The City of Menlo Park is seeking a Public Works Supervisor - Fleet in the Maintenance Division of the Public Works department. The Maintenance Division provides many of the basic services that affect the daily lives of everyone who lives, works, visits and commutes within the City. The Maintenance Division provides support to all City departments and provides service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to address emergencies during non-working hours. The Maintenance Division is located in the City's Corporation Yard. Under general direction, the Public Works Supervisor - Fleet plans, organizes, and directs a comprehensive automotive and equipment maintenance and repair program for the City; supervises and reviews the work of maintenance staff responsible for the maintenance, repair, and outï¬tting of vehicles and equipment; performs a variety of technical tasks relative to the assigned functional area; and provides responsible technical assistance to the Assistant Public Works Director - Maintenance. Positions at this level use considerable independence, initiative, and discretion within established guidelines. This class is distinguished from the Assistant Public Works Director - Maintenance in that the latter has management responsibility for all public works maintenance services and operations of the City.
