PUBLIC UTILITY ANALYST I - 61000038

State of FloridaTallahassee, FL

About The Position

The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) is committed to making sure that Florida's consumers receive some of their most essential services — electric, natural gas, telephone, water, and wastewater — in a safe, reasonable, and reliable manner. In doing so, the FPSC exercises regulatory authority over utilities in one or more of three key areas: rate base/economic regulation; competitive market oversight; and monitoring of safety, reliability, and service. The Office of Auditing and Performance Analysis (APA) is responsible for technical reviews in all industries, and may include financial, compliance, management, and operational analyses. The APA analysts conduct reviews of utility-related records and data, and they provide independent verification of utility filings and statements. The position will conduct comprehensive reviews of data used to prepare utility filings and perform independent analysis of the utility documents supporting the filing. The comprehensive review requires the position to compile, analyze, and verify data and communicate the results in writing. This is technical, analytical work involving complex regulatory filings such as recovery clauses, staff-assisted rate cases and other utility rate-setting proceedings.
