What you’ll achieve Dell Technologies is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. As a trusted technology provider to G20 governments for more than 20 years, Dell understands the budget concerns, purchasing process and complex security and compliance requirements of the U.S. Public sector. Our technology solutions help maximize the benefits of previous investments and implement newer, more efficient ones that free up agency time and resources to move U.S. Public customers forward in their missions. As an experienced Public Sector Contracts Counsel, you will support Dell’s U.S. Public Sales segment. This includes K-12, Higher Education, Healthcare, and State and Local Government customers. You will review, analyze, and negotiate sales agreements with some of Dell’s largest public customers in the U.S. Deals will involve public sector terms and conditions and procurement rules, intellectual property, resellers, and commercial contract law.

Requirements

  • JD degree with admission to at least one state bar
  • 8+ years’ of public contracting experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department
  • Experienced sales contracts attorney with expertise in public sector procurements and commercial agreement drafting and negotiating
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of successfully negotiating large, complex deals
  • Experience with state, local, and education public sector procurements, strategy and compliance
  • Detailed knowledge of commercial contracts terms

  • Experience in the technology industry
  • Experience negotiating software, hardware and/or services contracts, including “as-a-service” subscription contracts

Responsibilities

  • Lead public RFP review and negotiation and provide strategic guidance on Dell’s response to U.S. Public sector end user terms and conditions
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of U.S. Public Sector customer agreements and commercial agreements
  • Lead agreement negotiation for the sale of information technology products and services (including outsourcing, managed, and professional service engagements, and the resale of third-party products and services)
  • Assist in driving the evolution of best practices in responses to public procurements and resolving common contracting issues with U.S. Public Sector customers
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, finance, legal, tax, services, and government affairs teams to drive public sector contracting strategy and ensure that agreements adequately protect Dell’s interests
