Public Safety (911) Dispatcher
About The Position
As a member of our team, you will be tasked to: Assess and prioritize calls based on the level of urgency and dispatch appropriate emergency personnel Utilize advanced technology and computer systems to track resources, monitor situations, and relay information to emergency responders Collaborate closely with police, fire, and medical personnel to coordinate swift and effective responses Document and maintain detailed and accurate records of all calls, ensuring essential information is properly recorded Maintain and project a professional attitude by remaining calm, courteous, and respectful with members of the public and partner agencies
Requirements
- Prior or current Public Safety experience (defined here as paid or volunteer service with a Fire Department, EMS, or Law Enforcement agency) OR previous Public Safety Dispatch/Call Taking experience. Applicants without this experience will not be considered.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and navigate dispatching software, including typing at a minimum net speed of 35 words per minute
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think and react to dynamic situations
- Availability to work in varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Highly dependable in consistently reporting for work on time and as scheduled; available for mandatory overtime when
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Eligibility to work in the United States
