About The Position

The Public Relations internship at Travel + Leisure Co. offers a unique opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in public relations and marketing communications. Interns will engage in various tasks such as writing, research, media relations, and event coordination, all while working closely with senior leadership and receiving mentorship. This program aims to develop future talent in the leisure travel industry by providing real-world training and exposure to the corporate environment.

Requirements

• Seeking a degree (or being a recent graduate) in public relations, journalism, or a related program.
• Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) Style.
• Confidence to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Previous internship experience (prior experience at a company or public relations agency is a plus).
• Understanding of the news media and what makes a story newsworthy.
• Ability to commit to the program beginning in May 2025 in Orlando, Florida.

Nice To Haves

• Certificate in Principles of Public Relations preferred.
• Student membership in the Public Relations Society of America, Florida Public Relations Association, or similar professional associations preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft-based office software and tools for project management, media relations, marketing, and/or graphic design.

Responsibilities

• Writing news releases, newsletter articles, pitches, social media posts, and other content.
• Conducting online and traditional research.
• Developing media lists, pitching, and documenting press coverage.
• Developing media measurement profiles.
• Coordinating and staffing special events.
